Volunteer

Singletrack Flyers is a 100% volunteer run program and we need our awesome people to come ride with us. Our biggest need is coaching staff and we provide all of the training required, even novice riders can coach! Training sessions are offered weeknights in late May (options for a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evening session) and coaches meeting is June 1 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Tech Trails trailhead. To ensure consistency, as ask our volunteers to commit to at least 6 out of 8 sessions.

Description of on-bike volunteer positions:
- Head Coaches. Lead group rides. Be the main leader for the group and communicate with parents and assistant coaches. Head coaches are required to attend an on bike training session and the pre-season coaches meeting.
- Assistant Coaches. Help out the Head Coach with organization and day of tasks during rides. Fill in for Head Coach if they cannot attend. Assistant coaches are required to attend the pre-season coaches meeting and encouraged to attend a training session.
- Roaming Rover. Available to help the coaches and athletes as needed during practice (may be with multiple group levels during a Monday night session). Substitute for coaches as needed. Roaming rovers are encouraged to attend the pre-season coaches meeting.
- Roving Medical. Available to treat injuries on the trails. Must have current First Aid + CPR certification, WFR or OEC certifications preferred. Roving medical is encouraged to attend the pre-season coaches meeting.
- Substitute. Available to help coach when a head or assistant coach is out, similar to roaming rover, but assigned to one group for the session. Subs are encouraged to attend the pre-season coaches meeting.

We also have a limited number of "off-bike" volunteer positions:
- Trailhead Medical. Must be first Aid + CPR certified. The main point of contact for any injuries. Stationed at the trailhead.

- Trailhead Maintenance. Available at the main trailhead the duration of practice to assist with bike adjustments, including flats.
- Flags. Responsible for setting up the color groups flags each Monday before rides and/or taking them down. Requires volunteers to arrive at 5:30 for set up and return at 7.30pm for tear down.
- Setup features. Setup and take down features and/or obstacle courses to be used during rides. Requires volunteers to arrive at 5:30 for set up and and return at 7.30pm for tear down.
- General Setup and Tear Down. Assist with tent set up/take down, filling water jugs, hauling out equipment, etc. before and after sessions. Requires volunteers to arrive at 5.30pm for set up and return at 7.30pm for tear down.
